I am principally interested in waterfowl ecology and conservation, with a particular focus on diving ducks (Aythyini). My current research with the U.S. Geological Survey investigates the winter body condition and foraging ecology of Canvasback (Aythya valisineria), Greater Scaup (Aythya marila), Lesser Scaup (Aythya affinis), and Ruddy Ducks (Oxyura jamaicensis) in the Suisun Marsh and San Francisco Bay Estuary.
