University Scholarships and Fellowships

Fellowships and graduate scholarships of various kinds are available to new as well as to continuing graduate students. In general, citizens of the United States and permanent resident aliens are eligible for these awards.

Continuing student fellowship application deadline is January 15th for awards beginning the following Fall quarter.

Incoming student fellowship application deadline is January 15th each year for students entering the following Fall.

Teaching Assistantships:

The Animal Science Department Application for Teaching Assistantships (link below) should be completed and submitted to the Animal Science Welfare Committee Administrator. To insure consideration, this application form must include copies of all transcripts, and three letters of recommendation (which will be pulled from the admissions application by the Avian Science Graduate Group Coordinator), and must be submitted by March 1st either in person at 1249 Meyer Hall or by email to

The instructions and forms to apply for teaching assistantships from other campus departments should be obtained from each department. Contacting departments directly that you feel you are qualified to instruct for is strongly encouraged. A limited number of these opportunities are also advertised at the Graduate Studies website at
